Little Mo turns 3!

November 8th, 2011

balloon_cards

Yep, Little Mo officially turns 3 today:)

3 years ago, I opened my online shop and listed a few stationery for sale. In my shop, I had 4 or 5 writing sets, some postcards and a few sheets of wrapping paper. The first item that I sold was to a nice couple in the states. They bought one of my wrapping papers and they said they just wanted to be my first customer. 3 years later, I think I got carried away with drawing, resulting in a whole expansion of goodies now.

I just wanted to say thanks for a fabulous 3 years and thanks for making what I do so enjoyable and worthwhile. I really had lots of fun over the years; blogging and sharing my art with you, selling and wrapping up your packages. I consider many of you wonderful friends that I’d love to meet in person and have tea and cakes one day! So thanks for supporting my art and thanks for your friendship!

Here are some of the new goodies for my birthday launch:

Getting ready for a party…

October 23rd, 2011

With my 3 year shop anniversary coming up and Christmas not too far away, I’ve been busy drawing and creating new products to stock in my online shop.

This year will be my third year running Little Mo and Friends and I want to create the cutest shop online! I also want to hold a Little Mo online party and celebrate it with everyone (animals included)! Not being too ambitious am I?

Here are some of the teapots I’ve been working on this weekend, to be launched on my 3rd anniversary. What do you think?

I’ve got a few ideas running through my head but as always, I’d love to hear what you’d like to see this made into.

Stay tuned for more drawings and I’ll be sending everyone a party invite for Little Mo’s 3rd birthday party :D

Works in progress

While there is still some daylight left today, I’ve been making a batch of notebooks for a wholesale order. This is one of my newer designs; Little Mo and Twigs.

And….I’ve been thinking about tea and cakes a lot lately. Today at work I ate a nice chocolate filled croissant. The pastry was flaky and buttery and it was dusted with all that icing sugary goodness. It was really tasty and even brought back fleeting memories of our patisserie eating adventures in Paris (which reminds me, I need to get around to writing a blog post on the city of love…but where do I start??)

So yes…I’m a bit obsessed with all things teapot at the moment…

South West Australia: hay, sheeps and horses

October 16th, 2011

Hi! Sorry for the absence. I’m sure my mum (who visits my blog daily) must be wondering by now what I’ve been up to!

Last weekend, we went on a South West trip to film a documentary for the Shire of Kulin. Kulin is a small town situated in the Upper Southern whealtbelt area of Western Australia. It took us 4 hours to get there and it was quite a picturesque drive with rolling hills, open farmlands, cattles, sheeps and horses throughout. I even spotted some alpacas!

While Richard was filming, I wandered around taking a few snapshots. I think the pictures kind of sum up the classic Australian farming lifestyle!

I’m looking forward to returning to the town next month. We’ll be filming Kulin’s famous Tin Horse Highway so I’ll post more pictures then. I hope you are all well! xox

Little Mo in the news…

Voice-traders

Hello! If you found me from The Perth Voice article, thanks for stopping by! I was so excited to read the story and it also made for a nice surprise for my parents and husband! They think I’m famous now just because I got my picture published in the newspaper:) I don’t think so!

If you’d like to read the article, you can download my interview here. I also have an online shop where I sell my handmade art!

This weekend I’ve been busy juggling shop duties at Montage Collective, and trying to finish another horoscope illustration. Sometimes I feel like there is not enough hours in a day to finish what I’ve started! There are so many drawings in my sketchbook that I have not had the chance to fill in with colours.

pugs1
I’ve been meaning to ink in my pug drawings and make some cute pug products. Do you like pugs? Maybe you can help me! What kind of pug items would you like to see in my shop? I need some ideas to get started!

My green Monday

September 26th, 2011

Today was a wet and windy day and I was feeling really cold (and lonely) in the shop…

green_montage2

I decided that maybe the shop needed a bit of sprucing up, so I chose a “spring green” theme and started decorating our shelf display. I love that our pop-up shop has such a diverse range of products, it inspires me…just being part of this talented collective.

green_montage1

grape_salad

When I got home, the green theme rubbed off on me so I made a quick salad for lunch, and treated myself to Kerri’s Yo-yo biscuits…served on my Stangl Magnolia green plates.

stangl_magnolia

It’s taken me ages to find a set of plates that I love and these vintage dinnerware from New Jersey are all hand painted individually and made between 1952 to 1978. Unfortunately Stangl Potteries have closed so I’ve been sourcing online, the rest of the Stangl dinnerware, in particular this Magnolia collection. I’ll share more pics once I’ve managed to collect the complete set!
