The best things in life…
Wednesday, July 21st, 2010Comes in abundance of colours.

A fresh posie.

A blue blue sky.

Home grown greens.
The winter dreariness has been slowly catching up to me. I feel like on some days I just want to crawl into a dark cave and hibernate. I’ve also realised that it takes me longer to do my art because my mind sometimes behaves like a stalled cold engine.
Yesterday the beautiful sunshine seemed to make the winter day pleasant enough. I’ve also noticed how much my mood has improved by just bringing flowers home.
Sending you all warm wishes for this week! xoxo
Hello! Mr Rain
Saturday, July 10th, 2010Mr Rain is staying with us for a couple of days…

Since his arrival, we’ve been enjoying hot drinks together over a good book.
Mr Rain is going to help out in the garden and then go swimming in the lake. If you see him around, don’t forget to give him a big smile! xoxo
More veggies
Monday, June 21st, 2010I came back home today with a box of leafy greens to add to my vegetable garden.

A packet of roma tomato seeds, some red rubin basil, greek oregano and bok choi.

I love the little spikes on the oregano leaves.
Another year older
Tuesday, June 8th, 2010I turned 29 on Sunday. Nobody would listen to me when I said I didn’t want to do anything at all!

We had a trio birthday lunch with my brother in-law Kris and his partner, Jodie. Niina baked us a birthday sponge cake, topped with chocolate whipped cream and fresh strawberries. It tasted divine.
My parents in-law gave me the most awesome present. They bought me two vegetable planters with some potted vegetables to plant my own veggie garden! I was so excited when I opened my present, I laughed and screamed at the same time.

I have already planted all my greens (I couldn’t wait).
I hope your weekend was as good as mine?
Autumn sunday
Sunday, May 30th, 2010I think Autumn took awhile to get here. Some pictures from our walk today.

And then back home for chocolate chip muffins.

Chocolate chip wholemeal muffins (Makes 8 muffins)
250g plain wholemeal flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon bicarb soda
2 tablespoons cocoa
175g brown sugar
150g chocolate chips
250ml milk
90ml vegetable oil
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Preheat the oven.
- Pour dry ingredients into a mixing bowl. Pour liquid ingredients into another bowl.
- Gently mix both together. Do not overmix. Spoon mixture into muffin tins (will be a bit runny).
- Bake for 20 minutes or until muffins are risen.
(I’d totally recommend using Cadbury dark chocolate chips, so good!)
Wood you be mine!
Tuesday, April 6th, 2010Remember our little outing at the woods, a few days before our wedding?

I received the rest of the photos. Here are some of my favourites!

I like this picture best. Every time I’m happy or sad, this is the incredible person I’ve hugged so much, for support. I hope I’ll always be there to hug him too when he needs me!
Thank you Jen for these wonderful photos! Do check out her blog, Anna Rose Photography to see her amazing portfolio.
We also got the rest of our wedding photos, so I shall share some of our favourites in my next post:)
