Working on some sketches. Any guesses on what I’ll be making next year? I can tell you two words; fun and cute!

Don’t forget to come down to Perth Upmarket to check out my art this Sunday at the Perth Town Hall. 10am -4pm. Take home some handmade mo goodness!

Also, the lovely Tracey from quiet paws is doing a giveaway on her blog. Just leave a comment here to be included in the giveaway. You win a pack of my mouse tags and a couple of nuts. Good luck!

Staying indoors

It’s raining outside and it’s making pitter patter sounds on the rooftop. I am listening to Billie Holiday while ironing my mo bags.

Also finished packing another round of orders from my Special Deals page. I get excited when my art is travelling places.

upmarket nov09

One market down, last one to go. This is going to be a huge event with over 85 retailers selling their design wares at the Perth Pre-Christmas Upmarket. You can check out the lineup here. I’m really excited to sell alongside these amazing designers!

This is also my last market for the year and then I’ll be taking a break (and planning the wedding).

I still have a few 2010 calendars left and lots of art and gifts for Christmas presents. Come up and say hi and as always, thanks for supporting HANDMADE!

Another day at the markets and it was good to see everyone! Thanks for stopping by to say hi! Some pictures of my talented friends at MOTL.

My friend Karen from Tiny town paints these awesome manga inspired characters. She also does custom portraits.

I love how Sarah from Odd Girl Out has housed her jewellery in these wooden frames, so simple and effective.

Jane from Paper Chain Pony made a light box for her display. Her jewellery and display is so vogue and chic! Love it!

I also had a new display for my booth, I was getting a little tired with the old setup. More pictures on Little Mo and Friends fan page. Tell me what do you think of our new set up?

And tomorrow, pictures of goodies I bought. I’m spent out!

orange shoes

So I said I was going with an orange theme. Well I finally found shoes to get married in. I thought I would never find one in my size (apparently not a lot of people wear orange shoes) but these ballet flats found me.

What do you think?

I hope my parents don’t freak out. But I think if they see this now, they may not get such a shock on the day. Am I right mum? Anyway, it’s all part of the fun!

festive spirit

Christmas! It’s always a mad rush at this time of the year.

I’ve been making gift tags all afternoon…punching holes and hammering them to stock in my shop. You can also pick these gift tags up at Made On The Left this Sunday. I hope to see you all there.

gift wrap

Don’t forget that I gift wrap all my orders. If you’re buying for a birthday, a Christmas gift or just because, let me know what you’d like to write on the tags or note card.

Even if you’re buying something for yourself, it’s still nice to open it like a present, don’t you think?

special deals

Hey folks!

I’ve been working on my website this week. Still needs a bit more tweaking but I’ve added two fun pages, Gallery and Sale. Check it out!

My sale page features some of my special deals. So if you’re looking for a handmade gift this Christmas, and have been eyeing my art for sometime, this is the best place to start your browsing! Alternatively you can shop as per normal on my online shop. Have fun!

hotchoc

Here’s a simple equation:
chocolate + art + love = a very happy helena

If you follow this formula, you too will be feeling giddy with delight.

Also when you’re having pink and white marshmallows with hot chocolate, it’s only logical that you match it with a pink and white cup set. Don’t you agree?

Orange makes me happy

Friday, November 6th, 2009

Soooooooo….we are mailing out wedding invites today. It’s a bit like snail mailing…only ten times scarier.

orange wedding invites

We’re going with a blue and orange theme for our seaside wedding. I drew some coral like flowers and made up some postcard invites..nothing too fancy. I also found some orange envelopes to match our cards.

When I think of orange and blue, I think of some of my favourite things:

- a summer sunset
- chilled orange crush
- orange poppyseed cake
- fresh salmon
- blue m&ms
- blue candy floss
- the ocean!

What’s your favourite orange and blue?
